our wedding: the big day

I am so very excited to finally share the details of our wedding!  Zach and I were married November 16, 2012 at The Parker, in Palm Springs California and our big day is being featured on Style Me Pretty today!

From the very beginning, I dreamt of an effortlessly elegant wedding in Palm Springs.  When we arrived at The Parker, I could picture the entire weekend unfolding - it was perfect.  My Mom cried, I was over the moon and Zach wasn't quite sure what he had gotten himself in to, but we all knew we had found the perfect destination.

Once the venue was chosen, the real planning began.  I obsessed over every detail in hopes of achieving an effortlessly elegant vibe.  Instead of colors, I focused on textures.  From there we incorporated gold sequins, cool marble, clean lucite, shimmery Moroccan wedding blankets, lush greenery and soft blush florals.

The following is a snapshot of the best day ever.

So, without further adieu, our Wedding Day.

The day unfolded unlike any other.

I woke up at sunrise with unexpected and uncontrollable butterflies but before I could let the reality of the day soak in, the suite was filled with bridesmaids, moms, grandmas, hairstylists, makeup artists, photographers, videographers and their assistants.

The morning soon bloomed into a warm, fall day.  I was filled with anticipation but not an ounce of doubt in the world. Complete excitement that the day was finally here.

I spent the morning pampered in a sunny Jonathan Adler designed suite, any girls dream.  The anticipation that filled the morning quickly faded as I put on my dress.  My Mom and Nana, along with my bridesmaids spent what seemed like forever making sure every last button was hooked.

I had my first, First Look with my Dad.  It was one of my most favorite moments of the entire day, my Dad seeing me for the very first time.

Then came my First Look with Zach.  We met where our ceremony would begin.  The moment we saw each other all butterflies faded and what remained was pure bliss.  At that moment, it was clear, all the contemplating about what this day would be like faded and what was left was just Zach and I.  It truly was magical.

We took photos around the grounds and met with our families before the ceremony for a last set of photos under the desert's afternoon sun.  The excitement built until it was finally time.

Gathered on the Croquet Lawn were our closest family and friends.  My Daddy walked me down the aisle to Pachelbel's Canon in D, beaming at me the entire way.  I met Zach under an old olive tree and we spoke the vows we wrote together.  Zach was so serious, completely engrossed in the moment.  I was completely giddy and couldn't wait for him to finally crack a smile. We fumbled with the rings.  We kissed.  We kissed again.  We were married.  We became husband and wife under the desert sun, amongst the mountains where we first fell in love.

It was a dream.

I can't wait to share even more details with you!

  1. Hey :)
Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog about finding the perfect wedding venue. :) I tried emailing you back but your email isn't connected to blog comments so I figured I'd leave a comment on your blog instead.

Your wedding looked like it was absolutely incredible, and you're right... Palm Springs would be an incredible place to get married. I need to look into it as option too :)
