our wedding: the shower

I've whispered about it briefly on the blog, even gave a quick sneak peak, but I can't share our wedding photos just yet.  So, in an effort to indulge, I thought it would be fun to share some of the events leading up to the big day.  First up, the shower!

I'm extremely naive when it comes to weddings.  I just haven't been to that many, so when it came to my own, I didn't have many notions of how things should be.  Only my imagination. When it came time to plan the shower, my Mom and Maid of Honor asked for a bit of inspiration as a jumping off point.  My answer: Kate Spade!  The perfect combination of sweet and spice.  Preppy and girlie.  Love and independence.

What I arrived to was a beautiful backyard shower adorned with a spread of goodies, a mimosa bar and all the quintessential fun and games you might expect.  Planning a wedding can be so isolating, but it felt tribal to see all these women coming together to support me.  To send me off into marriage.

It was beautiful.  I felt completely giddy. Completely spoiled. Completely loved.
