Finding a good cause to support, the kind you truly connect with and are wildly inspired by, is like finding the perfect fitting jeans (a glorious occasion). So when I stumbled upon Indego Africa, I couldn't wait to spread the word.
Indego Africa was founded on the ideals that independence, development and governance should be available to all. Partnering with female artisans in Rwanda, they connect them to the international export market investing 100% of the profits back into training programs for these talented women artisans. In 2012, they partnered with 435 women in 11 co-ops, helping 1,300 children receive improved access to food, housing and education. By empowering these women, they are empowering the entire nation.
Not only is the concept genius, as you can see by their lookbook, their online store is full of totally current handmade jewelry, accessories and home goods. Here's what I've had my eye on: Coral Burst Plateau Basket & Sweetgrass Bangles.
